Terms of Use

These terms set the conditions for using Bell Residents Directory. Accessing the reference means you accept them; if they are not acceptable, please leave the pages.

1. Nature of the Reference

Bell Residents Directory is privately operated. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and directory collections relevant to Bell, California, but it does not host government records or represent any office, court, library, or custodian.

2. Permitted Use

Use the reference only for lawful purposes. Neither these pages nor material reached through them may be used to:

  • Stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or harm any person
  • Locate someone protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit identity theft or fraud
  • Make an FCRA-regulated decision involving credit, employment, tenant, or insurance matters
  • Scrape, copy, or republish the site's content at scale
  • Interfere with the site's operation or security

3. No Consumer Reports

Bell Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Neither these pages nor a linked search tool produces a consumer report, and neither may be used to judge eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose covered by that law.

4. External Links

Government portals and third-party services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Bell Residents Directory is not responsible for an outside service’s content, availability, charges, or data practices.

5. No Warranty

The reference is supplied “as is” and “as available,” without warranties. No promise is made that a page, fee, link, coverage note, or external portal is accurate, complete, current, available, or capable of returning a correct result.

6. Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from these pages or a linked resource, including a decision based on a record found through them.

7. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold the operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the reference or a breach of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original words, design, logo, and layout are protected by copyright. Links and short attributed quotations are welcome; republishing full pages or copying the material systematically is not.

9. Changes

A revised version may be posted here at any time. Continued access after a revision constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

10. Access Restrictions

Access may be blocked or limited for a user who violates these terms or abuses the reference, at the operators’ discretion and without advance notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by California law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public-records references are informed by the California Public Records Act, Government Code §7920.000 et seq.; the Act governs requests to public custodians, not this private reference.

12. Severability

If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about the terms may be sent through the Contact page.
